ECR SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The Electro Contaminant Removal (ECR) is Trident Water Systems' proprietary waste water treatment solution. It utilises a unique electrocoagulation treatment profile.
"The ECR is an alternative to conventional chemical and biological treatment processes. It does not require any use of chemicals."
The ECR is based on scientific principles involving responses of water contaminants to strong electric fields and electrically-induced oxidation and reduction reactions. The system is designed to remove a whole spectrum of contaminants from wastewater, including Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) / Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), heavy metals, colour, oil & gas, and many others.
The ECR is also able to better remove colour, achieve almost total heavy metal removal, produces less and non-hazardous sludge, requires small footprint, has zero impact on TDS, and is adaptable to spikes in effluent parameters. These are some of the many advantages the ECR has over conventional technologies.

"In terms of operating cost, the ECR is much lower than using chemicals and slightly higher than biological. However, the savings in infrastructure cost and land usage more than compensates for the latter."
The modular design of the ECR system provides its customers with the flexibility of progressively increasing its effluent treatment capabilities according to the growth of their businesses rather than having to commit to a system of fixed treatment capacity from the outset.
